Employee Identification Number (EIN), aka IRS Tax ID Number
You're probably wondering why you need an EIN if you're not going to have employees. In short, you need an EIN so you can use that instead of your own social security number for business purposes. You'll also need it to open a business checking account. (That's extremely important. More later on this. )
