Creating PDF Files
Overview
Not everyone has Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. It's very common to send Word or Excel documents or to make them available to people online. But that puts people who don't have Word or Excel at a disadvantage. They can't open these files. Word and Excel are pricey, and not everyone has them.
But anyone can read PDF files by downloading Adobe PDF Reader, it's free. The PDF file format has become so universal, all forms available from the government are available as PDF files.
Note: You can download Open Office for free. Open Office has word processing software and spreadsheet software that are compatible with Word and Excel. Open Office also can create PDF files. That's something Microsoft Word or Excel can't do.
